Becca Melesky’s career has revolved around service – to our Nation, to veterans, and to her community. As an officer in the United States Marine Corps, Becca served on active duty for four years, deploying twice to Afghanistan. As a reservist, she was asked to join a Humanitarian Assistance Mission in the Philippines following a devastating Tsunami. Despite the overwhelming sights that come with deployments overseas, Becca’s view of the world is incredibly positive. She believes, that when given the chance, human beings will always help others in need. This core belief led her to the nonprofit sector after leaving active-duty service. Over the course of several years, Becca worked for two separate Veterans Support Organizations, spending time, first, in the communications department, and then making her way into fundraising.
Becca is a life-long learner. She has a constant thirst for knowledge, which often translates to improvements at work. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baruch College, a master’s degree in Communication from Kent State University, and a doctorate degree in Business and Marketing from Jacksonville University.
When Becca is not on mom duty, working, going to school, or handling Marine Corps Reserve duty, you will find her nose in a book. Whether getting deep into philosophy, exploring human behavior, learning about quantum gravity, or enjoying a good psychological thriller, being curled up with a book is her absolute favorite thing.
